SELAH /ˈsiːlə,ˈsiːlɑː/ A PAUSE IN THE VOICES SINGING
In the breath between my words, I lift my eyes up to the sky, to the One who orchestrates the story of my life.
In the comma, peace, pause of my sentence, I ask Him this one thing –
Will you take me to the secret place? Where chaos meets solace, where rivers run wild, where yellow fields clothe the ground beneath our feet, where there is a pause in the voices singing.
Forsaking all fantasy, I move toward the Mystery of that which is yet to be uncovered – all that is sacred and purposeful, all that is well.
You tell me to leave my anxieties at the gates of the garden, and so I do, for nothing ever grows in the wasteland of my worry.
Dancing in calling Light, and carefree in the care of Another, time stands still – just for a moment.
A wave of contentment, warm as the sun, washes over me. All is well now.
And so, in the breath between my words, where one line ends and before another begins, I lift my eyes up to the sky.
Inhale, selah, exhale.
